I know when we are young, we often feel invincible. As many people now know in my age group, that feeling wears off. The topic I would like to discuss today, is the topic of older individuals who have some degree of obesity. According to a study in Experimental Gerontology (2014; 60, 64-71), High speed circuit training works better than lifting weights to failure. For those of you who don’t know what high speed circuit training is, It’s basically picking about 10 different exercises and going from one work out exercise to another with no rest in between. This is because there is a cardio vascular component to it. It’s really great to have both a strength component as well as a cardio vascular component to increase our activities of daily living.
